Editor’s Note: This podcast and briefing is highly critical of Trump, which is to be expected from a left-wing source. However, MAGA followers are echoing the same concerns.
I am not abandoning Trump. I don’t believe he was involved in pedophilia. However, he is in a Catch-22 situation: He cannot release the files without exposing our corrupt government and it’s a catastrophe if he doesn’t.
The issue goes beyond whether Epstein committed suicide or not. The issue is a massive coverup of incriminating information on high-profile figures and Epstein’s ties to criminal intelligence agencies, including the CIA and Israel’s Mossad.
Trump wants us to stop talking about it, but it’s not going away. It was the coverup of the Watergate break-in that took down Nixon—not the burglary itself—and this is bigger than Watergate because it is a coverup of the most heinous crimes imaginable.
This coverup also exposes our 100% corrupt government and its PRETENDED legitimacy. This will be the end of the MAGA movement and Trump’s administration.
It is not going away even if Attorney General Pam Bondi is fired. People will not be satisfied with making her the scapegoat and forget about this coverup. Yes, they got away with the CIA’s assassination of JFK after judicious editing of the Zapruder tape by the crooked FBI (and by a simulated “investigation”). Back then everyone got their censored information from the major three networks. Nowadays, we have independent news outlets on the internet that they cannot control.
Here are some of the facts and statements made a priori:
On July 7, Monday, to the shock of those of us who do our own research, the Justice Department and the FBI released a memo saying a “systematic review revealed no incriminating ‘client list.’ ” (Translation: there is no sheet of paper with the headline “client list”, but there are thousands of identifiable perpetrators we are protecting.)
The memo further stated: “There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions.” Blatant lie.
It went on: “One of our highest priorities is combatting child exploitation and bringing justice to victims. Perpetuating unfounded theories about Epstein serves neither of those ends.” What a joke.
Earlier, Kash Patel spoke about Epstein’s client list as a “black book” and said: “To me, that’s a thing President Trump should run on. On Day 1, roll out the black book.”
In February, Attorney General Pam Bondi admitted a client list existed, on Fox News, saying: “It’s sitting on my desk right now to review.”
Elon Musk stated on July 8th that Steve Bannon “is in the Epstein Files.” Musk also shared a post from conservative activist Sarah Fields, stating:
If the entire government is protecting pedophiles, it has officially become the government against the people. I hope you all understand that.
GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote on X: “No one believes there is not a client list.”
Alex Jones said that seeing the Trump administration cover this up “tears my guts out.” He added: “The left, they’re all complicit, they’re openly promoting pedophilia. We know they’re pure evil.”
And popular YouTuber Benny Johnson wrote on X: “To say there are thousands of ‘victims’ in a convicted sex trafficking ring and then to say there were no ‘customers’ when the operation happened right before our very eyes insults our intelligence. Trafficking women to no one? I don’t buy it. There are other dark forces at play here.”
And yet, in a Tuesday Cabinet Meeting, Trump chastised a reporter who asked about the Epstein files: “Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years. … Are people still talking about this guy, this creep? That is unbelievable.”
In this video Trump admitted there were files:
Trump is boxed in by a system that was built before any of us were born. One that Patrick Henry warned us about. It began when the sovereignty of the states was stolen by Abraham Lincoln. Then the sovereignty of the people was stolen by Woodrow Wilson via the income tax (slavery) and the Federal Reserve. And thirdly, the means to resist our slavery was stolen by Franklin Roosevelt when he took our gold and outlawed the possession of certain firearms needed to resist tyranny.
What happens next.? The answer is a further weakening and disrespect for the pretended rule of law in this country. Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis dissented in the Olmstead case because the crooked justices ruled that wiretapping by federal agents did not violate the Fourth Amendment. This was his famous dissent:
"Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy."

PODCAST Briefing: "A Betrayal" - The Epstein Files and Trump's Reversal
This podcast and briefing document summarizes the key themes, ideas, and facts presented in Branko Marcetic's article "A Betrayal," which critically examines the Trump administration's reversal on releasing Jeffrey Epstein-related files.
Core Thesis: A Shameless Flip-Flop and Cover-Up
The central argument of the article is that the Trump administration's sudden decision not to release the Jeffrey Epstein files, after extensively promising to do so during the 2024 campaign, constitutes "one of the laziest, most brazen cover-ups in American history." This reversal is presented as a significant betrayal of earlier commitments and a move to protect powerful individuals.
Key Fact: During the 2024 campaign, Donald Trump and his team "spent the 2024 campaign promising to release what the government had on Epstein and the criminal network around him."
Quote: Attorney General Pam Bondi previously claimed a "truckload of evidence arrived," and that she had Epstein's client list "sitting on my desk right now, to review," promising "everything’s going to come out to the public."
Key Fact: FBI Director Kash Patel previously charged the government was withholding files "because of who’s on that list," vowing "not to withhold information from the American public, ever."
Current Stance: The official position of Bondi's DOJ and Patel's FBI is now that "there is 'no incriminating client list'" and they will make "no further disclosure" in the name of "combatting child exploitation."
Misdirection Regarding a "Client List"
The article highlights a deliberate misdirection by the Trump administration concerning the nature of the unreleased information. While the administration claims there's no "client list" and only "unreleasable child porn," the author argues this is a tactic to obscure the true nature of the withheld material.
Quote: "To be clear, there is likely no actual 'client list.' What there is — as Julie K. Brown, the Miami Herald journalist who broke the Epstein story, has repeatedly said — is a trove of heavily redacted and unreleased files that the FBI and DOJ have been sitting on for years, which could give us an idea of who Epstein consorted with while still protecting the identities of victims."
Key Fact: The Trump team has "conveniently steered attention away from this to a phantom client list and Epstein’s pornographic content."
Trump's Agitation and Past Statements
The article notes a significant shift in Trump's demeanor when questioned about Epstein, contrasting his current agitation with previous statements.
Quote (Trump, recently): "Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years. . . . Are people still talking about this guy, this creep? That is unbelievable. Do you want to waste time on it? . . . I mean, I can’t believe you’re asking a question on Epstein at a time like this, where we’re having some of the greatest success, and also tragedy with what happened in Texas. It just seems like a desecration."
Quote (Trump, less than a year ago): He told podcaster Lex Fridman it was "very interesting" that Epstein’s associates had not been made public and that he would "be inclined to do the Epstein. I’d have no problem with it."
Epstein's "Closest Friend": Trump's Extensive Connections to Epstein
A major reason posited for Trump's reversal is his deep and long-standing personal connections with Epstein.
Quote: Epstein himself referred to Trump as his "closest friend."
Key Facts: Trump's name and over a dozen contact numbers are in both of Epstein’s "little black books."
He flew at least eight times on Epstein’s "Lolita Express."
Author Michael Wolff claims to have "roughly a hundred hours’ worth of interview recordings of Epstein talking about 'his long standing, deep relationship with Donald Trump.'"
Trump and Epstein dated the same woman, Celina Midelfart.
Epstein reportedly bragged about introducing Trump to Melania.
An "infamous video shows the two men partying and ogling women together at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago in 1992."
Twenty-eight young women were reportedly flown to Mar-a-Lago at Trump's request for a private beauty contest with Trump and Epstein as the "sole audience members."
Allegations of Abuse: One accuser testified Epstein introduced her to Trump at Mar-a-Lago when she was fourteen.
Another accuser was "recruited" for abuse while a locker room attendant at Trump's resort.
An unnamed woman sued Trump in 2016, alleging rape by both Trump and Epstein at age thirteen (lawsuit dropped after threats and pressure).
Quote (Elon Musk): After a falling out, Musk claimed that Trump himself was "in the Epstein files."
Author's Conclusion: "Given all of these connections, it would be more surprising if he wasn’t."
Epstein's Links to Intelligence
Another significant explanation for the cover-up is Epstein's alleged ties to various intelligence agencies, which could implicate powerful figures beyond just personal associates.
Key Facts/Allegations: Former Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta admitted he gave Epstein a "sweetheart deal" because he was "told Epstein 'belonged to intelligence' and to leave it alone."
Journalist Vicky Ward was told by four sources that Epstein worked as an arms dealer in the 1980s, leading to "employ of the Israeli government and several others."
Authorities found an expired Austrian passport with Epstein's photo, a fake name, and Saudi Arabia listed as residency, used to enter four countries.
Ari Ben-Menashe, a former Mossad spy, "unequivocally told reporters on the record that Epstein worked for Israeli intelligence running 'honeytrap' operations."
Epstein's chief benefactor, Les Wexner (Victoria's Secret owner), had a father-in-law, Yehuda Koppel, with ties to Israeli intelligence (Haganah militia, El Al). Koppel and his wife flew on Epstein's jet.
Epstein's early association with media magnate Robert Maxwell, "serially alleged to work for Mossad." Ben-Menashe charged Maxwell introduced Epstein to Israeli intelligence.
Epstein's career was kickstarted by Donald Barr, a former officer with the agency that later became the CIA, who inexplicably hired the unqualified college dropout.
Donald Barr's son, William Barr (Trump's Attorney General), declared Epstein's death a suicide pre-investigation and had previously shielded Iran-Contra perpetrators (which involved Israeli intelligence).
Evidence of Blackmail and Surveillance
The article refutes the administration's claim that "no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals," presenting several counter-arguments.
Quote: "This is a laughable claim."
Key Facts: Bill Gates's spokeswoman admitted Epstein "tried unsuccessfully to leverage" knowledge of Gates's affair "to threaten Mr. Gates."
Epstein had "secret rooms full of surveillance equipment in his various homes."
Law enforcement found a "cache of hard drives and of binders full of CDs containing lewd photographs labeled with names," some of which "went mysteriously missing four days later."
Epstein "idly boasted to a reporter about the illegal things he had seen high-profile Silicon Valley figures doing."
His coconspirator admitted to CBS News producer Ira Rosen that "Epstein had tapes of both Trump and Clinton."
Conclusion: Another Betrayal of Populist Promise
The article concludes that Trump's actions regarding the Epstein files are consistent with a broader pattern of "betrayal" in his second term.
Quote: "Whether Trump put the kibosh on the Epstein release to protect himself, the intelligence figures he had close ties to, the elite circles he’s spent his entire life in, or all of the above, it amounts to the same thing, one that’s part and parcel of Trump’s entire second term: after running a populist campaign claiming to fight the corrupt establishment on behalf of the working American, Trump has entered office and done everything possible to protect and enrich that same establishment and his fellow elites."
